The Importance of Makeup Lessons
Yesterday I attended a Makeup Lesson by Mii representative Becky over at Hazelwood Beauty. It got me thinking about the importance of Makeup Lessons. Some of you may think why do you need to go to a makeup lesson when you are already a makeup artist? I love makeup lessons!!! Everyone does things differently and I always pick up a new technique or tip, I love to learn and watch. Yesterday I learned that mixing the Mii Complete Cream Concealer with a bit of the Mii Eye Loving BB Cream gives a lighter texture with the same coverage under the eye. This is great for the more mature skin where as I would just use the Mii Pure wonder concealer a lovely light reflective, very light in texture, but sometimes just didn’t disguise some of the dark circles enough. Whereas just using the Mii Complete Cream Concealer did the job but could be a bit to heavy for mature skin. So I learned something new.
So have you considered having a makeup lesson? It is recommended that we have a makeup lesson every 10 years as we mature our skin changes, our looks change, fashion changes and we have a tendency to get stuck in a rut. With spring time on the way it is a good time to have a spring clean of our makeup bags, get rid of that out of date mascara, or that eyeshadow that you have had for years and years. One makeup lesson I did my clients had makeup from their wedding day 20 years ago, it was time to let that go!!!.
When it comes to applying our makeup often we find are not confident in having a change, so a makeup lesson is a good way to tackle that feeling. Being helped to apply your makeup correctly or just given some tips and techniques that will enhance your knowledge when coming to apply your own, will empower you to be more daring with your makeup.
A makeup lesson can take place in my studio or at your home. We cover skincare, matching and applying that flawless foundation that is right for your skin type. Contouring and corrective makeup, daytime makeup to evening makeup. If there is a particular look or technique you would like to learn then I can incorporate that too. It is a hands on experience so you will be applying the makeup. Lastly you are given a face chart that shows what colours we have used and where we placed them, so you can go away to practice your new look.
So why not embrace a change, a new look, a new you, more knowledge and treat yourself to a makeup lesson.
