Do you have your Prom Makeup and Hair sorted?
Prom season is just around the corner, do you have your Prom makeup and hair sorted? It is my daughter’s Prom this year we’ve got the dress, the transport is arranged, just the shoes and accessories to shop for. Obviously her prom makeup and hair is also in the bag, but she’s lucky, she has a mum for a makeup and hair artist but most don’t. So here are some tips on getting yourself prepared for your prom.
It is a big night out you want to feel gorgeous and look gorgeous and you will because you have a wow factor dress and you are arriving in style, but don’t forget the finishing touches. Your hair needs to be dressed, are you going to have your hair up or down, or half up, half down, in a side pony tail? So many decisions, my advice, look at magazines or on pintrest, instagram, google ‘prom hairstyles’ see what you like print the pictures off and when you visit your hairdresser or Makeup and Hair artist, you will be able to give them an idea of what you would like.
Your makeup is important, teen skin can be problematic, with those spots that always seem to appear when you don’t want them too. So what are you going to do to minimise the risk of a spot appear just in time for your prom. Start now with a good skin care regime of cleansing, toning and moisturising morning and night. If your skin is prone to acne or spots use products with natural actives in such as Ylang Ylang, witch hazel, lemon, rosemary, green tea all of which will purify your skin without stripping it. Exfoliate two to three times a week and treat yourself to a purifying face mask once a week. Or go all out and book a professional facial or facial peel. Not only will it rejuvenate your skin it will relax you and help destress you from all the pressure of your exams.
So to prom makeup, it is always wise to consider booking a makeup artist. They are professional and experts in their field, they will know what products will suit your skin type and match the correct colour foundation. You will be having photographs taken, your makeup needs to be defined, but not over applied. It can be whatever you feel comfortable with full out glamour or a natural look. Research the type of look you like, bring pictures to show the makeup artist what you like, a photo of your dress is important to help the makeup artist decide on colours for you.
Other finishing touches might be a spray tan, I would advise that you have a trial run before hand to check out the colour of the tan, you don’t want to look orange!! Follow carefully what your beauty therapist tells you and you will have a lovely natural looking tan. Nice nails just finish your whole look so have a manicure or paint them yourself the night before your prom, don’t be painting them half an hour before your need to get ready, you will smudge them!
Finally enjoy having your prom makeup and hair done, feel pampered, you deserve it for all the hard work you have put in for your exams. Have a brilliant time feeling beautiful and celebrate the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in your life.
