News
I thought I would just share news about what I have been up to over the last month. Although weddings are slowing down for me I am still busy doing special occasion makeup and hair, photo shoots and one or two weddings. My first piece of news is that I took part in a fairytale photoshoot with Irene of Neummann-Graham Photographers. The theme was Rapunzel. Irene offered me the opportunity to do the makeup for this shoot. Hayley Derbyshire of Fore Hair in Westbury did the hair. Hayley had to make a Rapunzel style ponytail out of hair extensions. It was an amazing thing and Hayley is a very talented hair dresser. Our model was Tann Marie and my brief for her from Irene, was to be natural, but big eyed, an innocent chased look, like she escaped and someone was following her. So lots of dark lashes.
It was a dark rainy morning but ever the professional Irene was not deterred and had made arrangements for a wet shoot should she have needed to. But it began to dry up and although damp, the location was misty and mysterious as you will see from the photos below. There was a very atmospheric feel to the whole shoot.
I have also been involved in a PR photo shoot for Sam Cox of Active Potential Therapy. I have know Sam for a number of years and had the privilege of working with her in the past. She runs a very successful Sports and Health Clinic on Bumpers Farm, Chippenham offering Sports Therapy, Sports Massage, Massage Therapy, Yoga Classes and Osteopathy. Her brief to me was “‘you know I don’t wear any makeup and therefore don’t what to look made up, but realise that from a photography point of view I need to wear something” So we went for the no makeup, makeup look. Her new colleague Carol Plumridge has just joined her team and also wanted a similar look. Barbara Leatham of Barbara Leatham Photography took the photos. I achieved this look using definition techniques such as contouring and highlighting, lots of mascara and lining the eyes as close to the lash line as possible. I defined the brows and used a rose blush mixed with some bronzer to give a healthy glowing look, and finished with a very natural lipstick.
