Bridal Makeup and Hair Previews

A trial for the bride is required and takes place at Rachel’s studio in Chippenham usually 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding date and is normally booked after securing your date in her diary. However if you preferred a trial sooner or you would like at trial before booking, then that is fine also. At the trial there is time to chat and for Rachel to get to know you, your likes, your dislikes, together you will chat about wedding style and theme, talk about hairstyles, hair type, skin type, what makeup you wear normally etc. So that together you can come up with a style that you feel comfortable and happy with.

Without a trial for the bride Rachel will not accept responsibility, if a chosen style or look does not work on the wedding day or there are circumstances where there is a mismatch in styles, approach, or expectation and a refund will not be offered.

Preview appointments are Tuesdays,  Thursdays, Fridays at 10.30 am (later appointments may be requested) and take place at 4 Patterdown, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN15 2NP. Payment by card or BACS on the day of trial.

We provide all hair equipment, hair product and pins to ensure your hair will last all day. We provide all makeup products.    We can also advise on hair pieces, veils etc

Brands we use – Charlotte Tilbury, Mii Cosmetics, Makeup by Mario, Hourglass.

 

Booking Fee

To be sure that I can give you my undivided attention and time, I only book one wedding a day. Due to high demand, your wedding date will remain available to other interested parties until a £50 non-refundable booking and admin fee is received. Once the booking and admin fee is paid, your wedding date will be secured and not open to anyone else. The booking and admin fee is in addition to trial payments and will be deducted from your final balance. All cancellations must be in writing. In the event of you cancelling your booking, before 6 weeks of your wedding date, you will lose your booking fee. Booking and Admin Fee to be paid by BACS.

Terms and Conditions – Wedding Hair & Makeup Services

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before making your booking. By paying the booking fee, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

1. Bookings

Minimum Wedding Booking Value

For weddings taking place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during high season (May to August), a minimum booking value of £400 applies.

This is the minimum amount payable for wedding-day hair and/or makeup services and does not include preview costs, travel charges, assistant fees or any other additional charges that may apply.

Number of Services

Rachel can usually provide:

• Hair and makeup for the bride plus up to three additional people; or
• A combination of up to eight individual hair or makeup services.

The number of services that can be accommodated will depend on the time everyone needs to be ready and the schedule available on the wedding morning.

If additional services are required, Rachel may be able to arrange an assistant, subject to availability. An assistant fee of £150 per assistant will apply.

Securing Your Wedding Date

Rachel accepts only one wedding booking per day so that she can give each bridal party her full attention.

Your wedding date will remain available to other clients until the £50 booking fee has been received.

Once the £50 booking fee has been paid, your wedding date will be secured in Rachel’s diary and will no longer be offered to other clients.

The £50 booking fee is non-refundable and covers securing your wedding date and the administration associated with your booking. It is separate from any preview payments but will be deducted from your final wedding-day balance.

Extreme Early Start Fee

If Rachel is required to arrive at your venue at or before 6:00am, an extreme early start fee of £60 will apply.

2. Hair and Makeup Previews

A bridal preview is required before the wedding day.

Previews take place at Rachel’s studio:

Previews are normally available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10:30am. Later appointments may be available by prior arrangement.

Weekends are reserved exclusively for weddings, therefore Saturday and Sunday preview appointments are not available.

Payment for the preview is due on the day and can be made by credit or debit card.

Allergies and Sensitivities

It is the client’s responsibility to inform Rachel before the preview and wedding day of any known:

• Allergies
• Medical conditions
• Skin sensitivities
• Previous reactions to makeup, skincare or hair products

All brushes, tools and products are maintained hygienically and cleaned and sanitised as appropriate between clients.

Preview Duration

Rachel will work with you during your preview to achieve a hair and/or makeup look that you are happy and comfortable with. A maximum of four hours is allocated for a bridal hair and makeup preview.

If you would like further appointments or significant additional changes after the initial preview, these can be arranged at an additional charge of £25 per hour.

The purpose of the preview is to agree your chosen wedding-day look in advance. If a client chooses to proceed without a preview in exceptional circumstances, Rachel cannot accept responsibility where the chosen style or makeup look is unsuitable, cannot be achieved as expected, or where there is a mismatch in expectations. No refund will be offered in these circumstances.

3. Payments

Rachel will issue the final wedding invoice approximately one calendar month before the wedding date.

The £50 booking fee will be deducted from the final wedding-day balance.

The outstanding balance must be paid by BACS no later than 14 days before the wedding.

If full payment has not been received by this date, Rachel reserves the right to withdraw wedding-day services.

4. Cancellations

In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel all or part of your booking, the following cancellation charges will apply:

• 4–6 weeks before the wedding: 50% of the cost of the cancelled services
• 2–4 weeks before the wedding: 75% of the cost of the cancelled services
• Less than 2 weeks before the wedding: 100% of the cost of the cancelled services

All cancellations must be made in writing by the person named on the booking form.

The cancellation will take effect from the date Rachel receives written notification.

The £50 booking fee is non-refundable.

5. If Rachel Has to Cancel

In the highly unlikely event that Rachel is unable to attend your wedding due to illness, emergency or other unforeseen circumstances, any payments made for wedding-day services that Rachel is unable to provide will be refunded.

Rachel will make reasonable efforts to help you find an alternative reputable hair stylist and/or makeup artist where possible. However, the availability, services, pricing and booking of any alternative artist will be a separate arrangement between you and that supplier.

Rachel cannot guarantee that an alternative artist will be available.

6. Postponements

If you postpone your wedding, Rachel will make every reasonable effort to transfer your booking to the new date, subject to availability.

If Rachel is available, your booking can be transferred to the new date and will be subject to the prices and Terms and Conditions applicable to that new date.

If Rachel is already booked and therefore unavailable on your new wedding date, the postponement will be treated as a cancellation and the applicable cancellation terms will apply.

7. Changes to Your Booking

Any changes to your original booking must be made by the person named on the booking form and should be confirmed by email as soon as possible.

Rachel will always try to accommodate requests to add additional people or services, but this will depend on the time available and whether additional assistance is required.

If you reduce or cancel individual services sufficiently far in advance that cancellation charges do not apply, you will not be charged for those cancelled services.

However, for Friday, Saturday and Sunday weddings taking place during May to August, the £400 minimum wedding booking value will still apply.

8. Delays and Extreme Weather

Rachel will make every reasonable effort to arrive at the agreed time. However, she cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by circumstances outside her reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, accidents or unexpected traffic disruption.

If the Met Office issues a Red Weather Warning affecting the area or journey involved and Rachel reasonably considers it unsafe to travel, she reserves the right to cancel the booking. In these circumstances, payments made for wedding-day services will be refunded. Preview costs and the £50 booking fee are non-refundable.

It is the bride/client’s responsibility to ensure that all members of the bridal party are ready and available at their allocated times.

Rachel cannot be held responsible for delays caused by members of the bridal party, guests, photographers, other wedding suppliers or circumstances at the venue.

If a member of the bridal party is late for their allocated appointment, their service time may need to be shortened to prevent delays to the rest of the schedule.

If delays outside Rachel’s control mean that there is insufficient time to complete all booked services, no refund will be offered for services that cannot be completed as a direct result of those delays.

9. Parking and Travel

Travel within a 25-mile radius of Chippenham is included.

Travel outside this radius may incur an additional travel charge and must be agreed with Rachel before the booking is confirmed.

Rachel’s normal maximum travel time is approximately one hour from Chippenham, unless otherwise agreed in advance.

Because Rachel travels with a considerable amount of professional equipment, suitable parking should be available as close as reasonably possible to the venue or preparation location.

If parking is limited, restricted or unavailable, please inform Rachel in advance. Rachel cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by parking difficulties that she was not made aware of beforehand.

Any unavoidable parking charges, tolls, congestion charges or Clean Air Zone charges incurred in connection with the booking will be added to the final balance where applicable.

10. Photography and Use of Images

Rachel may ask permission to take photographs of your finished hair and/or makeup for her professional portfolio, website and social media.

You are under no obligation to agree, and you may decline to have photographs taken or used for promotional purposes.

Where permission has been given, Rachel will not publish photographs from your bridal preview before your wedding day.

Rachel will not intentionally tag you in social media photographs, although you are welcome to tag yourself if you wish.

11. Health and Safety

Rachel takes appropriate care to maintain professional standards of hygiene and health and safety while providing hair and makeup services.

Clients and members of the bridal party should immediately inform Rachel of any discomfort, irritation, allergic reaction, accident or other concern arising during a service.

Rachel cannot accept responsibility for reactions resulting from allergies, sensitivities or medical conditions that were not disclosed to her before the service.

12. Bride/Client Responsibilities on the Wedding Day

The bride/client is responsible for informing Rachel of any known allergies, sensitivities or previous reactions affecting anyone receiving hair or makeup services.

Rachel must be provided with a suitable working environment, including:

• Good natural or artificial lighting
• Suitable electrical sockets
• Access to hand-washing facilities
• A suitable surface for equipment and products
• An appropriate chair and adequate working space

Following the preview, Rachel will provide a schedule for the wedding morning.

It is the bride/client’s responsibility to ensure that everyone receiving a service is aware of their allocated time and is ready when required.

If a person is late or unavailable for their appointment, Rachel may need to reduce their allocated service time or, where necessary, be unable to complete that service in order to keep the remainder of the wedding morning on schedule.

13. Privacy and GDPR

Rachel takes your privacy seriously and handles personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

The contact and personal information you provide will be used for the purposes of:

• Managing your enquiry and booking
• Communicating with you about your preview and wedding
• Providing the hair and/or makeup services you have requested
• Processing payments and maintaining appropriate business records

Your personal information will not be sold to third parties.

Information will only be shared with another person or organisation where this is reasonably necessary to provide your services, where you have agreed to it, or where Rachel is legally required to do so.

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By paying the £50 booking fee, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
